Review

Max Payne is an action game in the third person with 3D environment and developed for PCs by Remedy Entertainment, produced by 3D Realms and published by Gathering of Developers.
The development of the game play is through levels or stages, with cinematic sequences interruptions in which the player does not intervene and just watches the action. These breaks develop the story through videos and a graphic novel.

Max Payne was one of the first games in implementing the bullet time, which became so popular after the movie The Matrix. The bullet time that has this game is inspired by John Woo films. When it is activated, it makes the action of the game to become in slow motion, and although Max movements also lose speed, the player can react in real time to make more accurate attacks or to avoid the enemy’s bullets. However, the bullet time effect is limited.

As you advance in the game you can use different kind of weapons.
In addition, you will be able to see in detail for example, when a chief or the last enemy of a group is shot, the perspective changes and we can see his body falling apart while the camera moves around them.
Other remarkable things are the sound effects, they are just amazing. you will be able to hear the rush of air on your ear or ever your own breathing.

In conclusion, it is a really good game with excellent graphics and incredible sound effects, is a pity that is only a single player mode game.
Advantages
  • Incredible sound effects and graphics.
Disadvantages
  • Only a single player mode.
